It features a spring mechanism which is depressed to reveal the ballpoint nib and is easily refillable using standard Parker type refills. 



Owing to the use of brass, the pen has a lovely substantial feel to it and writes beautifully across the page. The brass body will age over time and begin wearing a patina with use. You can buff and polish the brass to an excellent shine, using any suitable brass polish which is widely available.
